ALVIN BALKIND CURATOR'S PRIZE - CRITERIA
The recipient should reside and work in British Columbia and have demonstrated a committment to curatorial practice. They will have demonstrated innovation, original research and critical engagement through the organization of exhibitions and projects and expanded an understanding and appreciation of the visual arts. The recipient may be employed at a recognized institution or be an independent curator who has demonstrated a commitment to curatorial practice over an extended period of time. Other considerations may include contributions made by the recipient to the practice of curating through critical writing and publising, teaching, lectures and contributions to the field.
At the discretion of the Board of Trustees of the Shadbolt Foundation an award may also be given to the institution that provided the venue for the curator's work.
