The Foundation supports an annual awards programme created and financed by Jack and Doris Shadbolt in 1988 as a “contribution to the advancement of the visual arts in British Columbia and their appreciation by the public,” and administers the Alvin Balkind Curator’s Prize.
The Shadbolt Foundation operates under the auspices of a Board of Trustees. It is a registered charity, issuing income tax related receipts for financial contributions. The Foundation welcomes enquiries, but does not accept applications for awards.
